This recipe promises not only an exceptional taste experience but also a dough that will make any sweet tooth’s heart beat faster. Here’s the recipe for these delicious cookies.
Ingredients:#
- 220 g butter
- 1 egg
- 450 g flour
- 150 g sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract or 1 sachet vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
Method:#
- Cream the butter, sugar, and salt for about 3–4 minutes.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract and continue beating.
- Sift the flour and baking powder and gradually add to the butter mixture. Reduce the speed of your hand mixer slightly.
- Once everything is well combined, stop mixing. Knead briefly by hand, wrap in cling film, and refrigerate. After at least 4 hours (ideally overnight), remove from the fridge and knead briefly. Work with only the portion you need and keep the rest wrapped.
- Roll out on baking paper. For a smooth finish, place a second sheet of baking paper on top and roll between the two.
- Cut out shapes and chill again for about 10 minutes. This helps the cookies hold their shape during baking.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C (top and bottom heat) for about 9–10 minutes.
- After baking, let the cookies rest for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. They need to rest because they’re still very soft when they come out of the oven.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. They keep for up to 2 months in the freezer.
Tip: To give cookies as a gift, pack them in cookie bags and decorate as you like. Or place them in an ice cream cup lined with cling film inside the cup. Tie the film at the top with a pretty ribbon — and your gift is ready.
