Ginger!#
Ginger contains several nutrients and antioxidants that can strengthen the immune system and reduce inflammation. It has antibacterial properties and can help you fight off flu or a cold. So if you have ginger at home, you’ll recover faster when you catch a cold. You can also use it to strengthen your immune system so a cold never gets a chance to take hold. There are various ways to use ginger to get healthy again and stay that way.
Ginger for colds:#
Ginger tea#
Slice a few pieces from the ginger root and pour hot water over them. Your ginger tea is basically ready — but for an extra kick, you can squeeze in some lemon and add a teaspoon of honey. Another way to prepare ginger tea: bring a cup of water to a boil in a pot and add grated ginger. Let it simmer for 5–10 minutes, then let the tea cool. Strain into a cup and add honey or lemon juice to taste.
Ginger with honey#
For a sore throat or as a preventive measure, you can mix a piece of grated ginger with a little honey in a small bowl and let it stand for 5–10 minutes. Then take a teaspoon and let it dissolve in your mouth to soothe the pain. Ginger tastes quite strong this way, but it helps reduce the discomfort. Repeat several times a day.
Ginger shot#
If you drink a small glass of ginger shot every day, you’ll recover quickly and stay healthy. Peel about 50 g of ginger and cut it into small pieces. Squeeze the juice of a lemon, add a teaspoon of honey and a teaspoon of turmeric to a blender, and blend until smooth. Strain the juice and pour it into a glass bottle. Drink a little every day and you’ll strengthen your immune system daily.
