Every woman knows it — the period! Pain, fatigue, cravings, and cramps, the same every month. To make these days easier to bear, here are our tips.
Warmth#
Warmth relieves cramps, so it’s advisable to keep yourself warm. You can place a hot water bottle on your stomach — the pain will be noticeably less. Keep your feet warm with thick socks; that will warm you up too.
Movement#
Light exercise will do you good. During sport, the body releases endorphins, which make you feel happy. This helps you feel better again and also reduces cramps.
Ginger tea#
Brew yourself a fresh ginger tea for relaxation. Ginger relieves pain and soothes the abdominal area. You can sweeten the tea with a little honey so it doesn’t taste too bitter, and enjoy it cosily on the couch.
Comfortable clothing#
Instead of tight jeans, wear comfortable trousers or a dress. Don’t constrict your body — give it more space during this exhausting time.
Pain relief#
Take pain relief in good time when you have cramps. Don’t wait until the pain becomes unbearable — take it early. That makes your period more comfortable.
Rest#
During your period, your body has a lot to cope with, so allow yourself a little more rest and sleep than usual.
